Wipe up any spills immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel to prevent them from soaking into the grout lines or drying on the tile surface. For tough stains on tile, use a tile-specific cleaner. For stubborn grout stains, a specialized grout cleaner and a soft brush can be effective. Extend the life and appearance of your tile floor with preventative measures. Place entryway mats at all exterior doors to trap dirt, grit, and moisture before it reaches your tile. Use felt pads or protective glides under the legs of all furniture to prevent scratches, especially on unglazed or textured tiles. For added protection and easier cleaning, consider having your grout lines professionally sealed periodically, especially in high-moisture areas. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads or harsh acidic/alkaline cleaners that can damage grout or certain tile types.
